Sintrius Gulch – Leader of the Lost
Once a scholar and engineer of remarkable intellect, Sintrius now a figure of awe and reverence, a god in the eyes of the local Orcs on Godless Isle. His journey from a mortal to a deity is as fascinating as it is complex. Sintrius is a rare Soulforged, having been an exceptionally powerful wizard in his life as a mortal before he succumbed to a grave and incurable illness. Being in an artificial body however allowed him to push himself beyond the limits of his mortal shell, without worry of injury or draining himself of life. His magic is not just potent but also versatile, allowing him to manipulate the world around him in ways that defy the natural order.
After the Great Departure, the defining event of Edrador’s modern history that saw the overnight disappearance of all humans in the Anshani Empire, Sintrius found himself in a de facto leadership position among the remaining Soulforged on Kis Tharador (Little Tharador). His leadership was not just a result of his powerful magic, but also his strategic mind and engineering prowess. He used the remaining longform communications on the island to send for aid, though no aid ever came.
However, Sintrius’ rule was not without its challenges. Small groups of Soulforged attempted to rebel against his leadership, threatening the fragile peace on the island. Sintrius, however, dealt with these rebellions swiftly and decisively, reducing the numbers of the Soulforged on the island to a fraction. His actions, while harsh, were necessary to maintain order and stability. When the Orcs arrived on Godless Isle, Sintrius saw an opportunity. Using his cunning and magic, he manipulated the Orcs into worshipping the Soulforged as gods of the land. This scheme was successful, and Sintrius found himself and his kin revered as deities.
Over the centuries, Sintrius has come to live deep in his own delusions, truly believing himself to be a god. His perception of reality has been warped by his own power and the reverence of the Orcs. Despite this, he remains a powerful and influential figure on Godless Isle, a testament to his magic, intellect, and will.
