Tjornir – Reanimated Mammoth

Mammoth Isle earned its name from the large swathes of Mammoth Cavalry employed by the Oldavori when defending the isle from the human invasion force. Their numbers were in the thousands and any charge they made against the humans was devastating. Tjornir was one such mammoth, a proud beast who was the mount of one of the Colossal Captains valiantly defending the isle despite their lack of reinforcements and supplies.

In a daring and foolish frontal charge into enemy archers, Tjornir and his rider were slain as from beneath the snow a large formation of pikemen sprang, halting the cavalry charge as chaos quickly ensued, mammoths goring one another and falling on the pikes of the enemy. Tjornir’s rider called for a swift tactical retreat, but from behind came a hail of arrows, javelins and fiery spells. The Mammoths ran amok, Tjornir’s rider was killed and the mammoth too was heavily wounded, walking on for several hours as blood surged from its wounds.

Finally it found its resting place atop a glacier in the mountains, collapsing against the permafrost and becoming one with it over hundreds of years. When Thirazar woke from his frozen slumber, Tjornir was one of the best preserved Mammoths he found, bringing it to life and using it to tear apart parties of rangers and adventurers that might linger too close to his home or his stores of undead.

Our models are conceived on paper and then bought to life as concept art by our dedicated arts team. These concepts are then passed on to our sculptors who meticulously create the stunning models we offer.
