Bagrash Ilkhan – Orc Blademaster
The Ilkhan clan was a minor clan within the dense jungles of Ukrondia. They had long desired to rise among the ranks of their kin, and their leaders held no limits for what they would do to rise to power. Bagrash was among those leaders when they chose to sell out their rival clans to the Baldurians that were tearing their jungles apart, slapping cuffs around their kin’s wrists and sending them to Baldur’s many mines. Bagrash was one of the few voices of dissent among his kin, though his voice was ultimately quelled when threatened, and told of the promised riches they would reap.
Yet their plans went awry. Though the Baldurians made short work of their enemies, the remaining clans saw Ilkhan as treacherous dogs, and united against them. Bagrash, seeing what would become of his clan, left them to their fate. Some might call him a coward, but he would rather live as a coward than die as a fool. There was no place for him in Ukrondia, so he fled beyond its borders, settling at first in the savannah of Sudd Tohst, where he earned himself a place in a village as its resident hunter, providing both food and security to its people. By chance, Bagrash slew a wyvern that a group of hunters from the World Explorer’s & Hunter’s League had been seeking out. Impressed by his skills to slay a wyvern on his own, the group offered him a place in its ranks, in the deadliest part of Tharador: Lo Fuin.
Bagrash found a strange comfort in the outpost of Zander’s Peril. It reminded him of home. The humidity. The dense foliage. Yet there was little politics in this outpost. Anyone that came there did so with a narrow list of reasons, either hunting or researching. Bagrash, owing to his skills as a hunter, tracker and warrior, became invaluable to the researchers within the outpost, and was tasked with leading many expeditions into the monster and Drow infested swamps. Whilst he has lost few researchers in his time, the expeditions are always a hazard, yet he carries no burden for their death, for each researcher lost died to their own folly. Whilst he may be called callous and uncaring, his time in Zander’s Peril has brought him to become attached to the WEHL and those within the outpost. It is his new home, one that he will not wish to see lost, should the drums of war ring out from the Drow.
