Lochren Ishtrak Hammerfist – Dwarven Blacksmith
Like many Mountain Dwarves in Dornat Al Karit, Lochren’s occupation has always been his birthright. Twelve generations of smiths came before him, from what lineage he is able to trace back. Yet within his lineage is an ancient and rare art, that of battlesmithing. Only the most talented smiths held the finesse, technique and raw strength required to craft, alter and repair weapons in the midst of battle. These smiths were often kept within the personal employ of lords and high ranking officers, stashed with a slew of weapons they would divy out to soldiers as needed, or use their tools to quickly repair or enhance weapons in the heat of battle.
Lochren has thus been in the employ of General Gordrain for the last several years, having been hand picked by Gordrain when he ascended to his position of Martial Advisor to Burak Praznin. Thus Lochren has fought on the same front lines as the General and his men, pitting himself in battle against the Irinaxi Drow and their Dark Dwarven servants when they attacked mining and lumber camps near the border of Lo Fuin. Here Lochren learnt more than just battlesmithing, but battle as well, being left with no choice in several occasions but to bring down his hammer on the skull of an enemy, as though it were raw iron in need of reshaping.
Now Gordrain has called on him once again, as he mans his post in the defense of Delvdor against threats of Troggs, beasts from the deep and an army of Dark Dwarves claiming to be refugees at the gates of Delvdor. He has seen enough bloodshed in his life to know there are few other ways this predicament can end. Though he hopes for a peaceful resolution for the sake of his own people, Lochren is not afraid to break bones with his hammer once more, if the need arises.
